Ron Leigh’s Music Factory is more than a music store — it’s a vibrant home for musicians of all ages and skill levels. Established shortly after Ron completed his schooling, the business began as a music teaching school in the early 1970s. With his rich experience in classical guitar, Ron taught at some of Melbourne’s most prestigious private schools.
Ron’s illustrious career spans decades and showcases an impressive resume. He served as Musical Director for Colleen Hewett and John Farnham, including a Royal Command Performance for Prince Charles. He has played guitar for acclaimed musicals like Godspell and Pippin, recorded for jingles, albums, and commercials, and performed live on television, including from the iconic Sydney Opera House with Tommy Tycho.

In the USA, Ron studied and later taught at the renowned Guitar Institute of Technology (now the Musicians Institute) in Los Angeles. He also co-managed the careers of Australian music legends such as Tommy Emmanuel, The Badloves, Russell Morris, and John Farnham. He also worked with the community to develop alcohol-and drug-free events that brought people together through music.
